Spurs scheduled to meet with Kevin Durant; Pau Gasol remains priority

TOP SPURS UPDATES: The Portland Trailblazers are aggressively pursuing free agent Pau Gasol, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski. Minnesota is now also in the mix, ESPN reports.  

Wojnarowski reported on Thursday night Gasol remains a priority for Spurs. The Spurs were expected to contact Gasol Friday.

The Spurs along with a handful of other teams are interested in power forward Ian Mahinmi.

Mahinmi will reportedly not return to Indiana after the Pacers agreed to a deal with Al Jefferson.

The Spurs are among 8-10 teams that have contacted forward Kris Humphries. No decision is imminent. 

Kevin Durant is expected to make his free agent decision by July 4. The Spurs meet with Durant on Saturday.

Their meeting will include Popovich, RC Buford and LaMarcus Aldridge. No Kawhi yet and no word about Duncan.

Durant has already met with the Thunder, Warriors and Clippers.

Dwight Howard agrees to 3-year, $70M deal to sign with Atlanta.

Evan Fournier agrees to re-sign with Magic on 5-year, $85M deal.

Evan Turner agrees to 4-year, $70M free agent deal with Blazers.

Chandler Parsons agrees to 4-year, $94M deal with Memphis.

Kent Bazemore agrees to 4-year, $70M deal with Hawks. 

Andre Drummond agrees to max deal with Pistons.

Al Jefferson agrees to deal with Pacers.

Jeremy Lin agrees to deal with Brooklyn Nets. Previously mentioned as Spurs target.

Joakim Noah agrees to a deal with the Knicks. The deal is said to be worth $72 million over 4 years.

Timofey Mozgov has agreed to a four-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. The deal is for roughly $64 million.

Miami Heat free agent center Hassan Whiteside announced Friday via The Players Tribune that he will remain with the team. Whiteside, the most sought after center on the market, spurned the Dallas Mavericks among other numerous suitors to remain with the club.

Former Wagner basketball player and San Antonio native Jordan Clarkson has agreed to resign with the Lakers according to sources. The deal is said to be for four-years and $50 million. Clarkson averaged 15.5 points per game as the second leading scorer for the Lakers during the 2015-2016 season.

DeMar DeRozan has agreed to a five-year deal to re-sign with the Raptors, according to The Vertical. The contract is said to be near $139 million.

The Associated Press is reporting that Charlotte Hornets small forward Nicholas Batum has agreed in principle to resign with the team for 5 years and $120 million.

Former Texas Longhorn point guard D.J. Augustin has agreed to a contract with the Orlando Magic.

NBA insiders believe the Spurs would have to be creative and make some major moves to sign one of this summer’s prized free agents.

The Spurs also must decide whether to match the contract of restricted free agent Boban Marjanovic should he receive a deal from another team.

And there, as always, are questions about Manu Ginobili's and Tim Duncan’s return.

Ginobili opted out of his deal on June 22, but reports say he is leaning on playing at least another season.

Duncan opted in to his current deal earlier this week, yet there has been no indication if Duncan will play next season or retire.
