SAN ANTONIO – Spurs small forward Kawhi Leonard has been named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team for a second consecutive season.
Leonard, the back-to-back NBA Defensive Player of the Year, averaged nearly two steals and one block per game this season.

He led a Spurs defense that allowed a league-best 93 points per game and held their opponents under 100 points in 62 games this season.
Leonard is considered to be the best two-way player in the NBA after he finished second in voting for the league MVP.

Leonard averaged a career-high 21 points per game to go along with nearly seven rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.
He is the only Spurs player to ever win multiple Defensive Player of the Year awards and the first San Antonio player to be named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in back-to-back seasons since Tim Duncan in 2007 and 2008.

Danny Green received 39 total voting points and just missed out on making the second team.
Duncan received 33 total voting points and LaMarcus Aldridge received a vote as well.
