Find the cash you didn't know you had

SAN ANTONIO – There is $4 billion in unclaimed cash in the state of Texas, and $132 million of that belongs to residents in San Antonio, according to the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.

“It could be forgotten bank accounts," said Jennifer Carter, an Unclaimed Property Outreach Specialist. "This could be un-cashed checks, this could be old utility deposits that you forgot about and moved."

Carter says many people are unaware of their unclaimed funds.

She says all you have to do is enter your name and the city you live in, and you'll be notified if you have cash to collect.
