Student will not return to school until cleared by doctor, principal says

SAN ANTONIO – Robert E. Lee High School is dealing with a confirmed case of turberculosis.

The principal notified parents with a letter Tuesday after the case was confirmed Monday.

The infected student has not been at school since last Wednesday and will not return until he is cleared by a doctor.

The school's principal said they are taking every precaution necessary and working closely with San Antonio Metro Health.

TB usually affects the lungs and can spread from person to person through the air. However, it is easily treated and prevented with medication.
