Man recovering in hospital after being stabbed during argument

Incident occurred just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday

SAN ANTONIO – A man is recovering at an area hospital Wednesday after another man stabbed him in the back during an argument over who he was dating, San Antonio police said.

The incident occurred just before 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 5900 block of Lake Victoria, found in the Crestlake neighborhood on the city's East Side.

According to police, the suspect forced his way into the home to confront the man because he believed the man was too old to be with a 22-year-old woman. Police said the two men were arguing when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the other in the back. That's when, police said, the victim pulled out a gun and fired a couple of shots at his attacker before the suspect drove off.

At this time it is not known if any of the shots wounded his attacker.

The suspect fled in a black 2006 Chevy pickup truck, police said.

Police said the 29-year-old victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
