Fire damages two-story home on city's East Side

Fire was reported around 3:30 a.m. in 1700 block of Nolan St

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio firefighters responded to a fire at a two-story home early Friday morning, fire officials said.

The fire was reported around 3:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of Nolan Street on the city's East Side.

Firefighters said neighbors first reported seeing the fire coming from the side of house. Firefighters then used an aerial ladder truck to shoot at the flames from above.

Officials said there were a lot of flames on the second floor and they didn't feel comfortable sending people inside.

A neighbor told firefighters that the people who live at the home drove off in a car around 10 p.m. last night, apparently in the process of moving out.

As of now the cause of the fire is not known. No injuries have been reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
