Family still waiting for answers in loved one's hit-and-run death

Nearly 5 months have passed since Lee Anthony Gomez died

SAN ANTONIO – Nearly five months have passed since the death of Lee Anthony Gomez.

Gomez's family finds strength and comfort together, while mourning the death of a man they say was a loving father, brother and son.

"Trying to see how we could continue living without my oldest son Lee Anthony Gomez. The kids are having a hard time, coping," Gomez's mother Cecilia Hernandez said.

Gomez, 36, was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Impala when he crashed into a Mustang whose driver had run into some barrels.

The crash happened on April 16 just before 1:30 a.m. on Highway 90 at the General McMullen exit.

Gomez was ejected from his vehicle on impact, and then a third car ran over him and never stopped to help.

Gomez died at the scene, leaving behind seven children.

"He was just a good dad and I will never forgot him. He was my everything," Gomez's daughter, Abby Girl Gomez said.

Gomez's family is now urging anyone with information to help them find those responsible.

"To anyone out there who has any information on my brother Lee Anthony Gomez, all we ask is that you come forward. If you know anything, please come forward," Roy Garcia said.
