SA fugitive wanted for sex attack on teen arrested in OKC

Viewer tip leads US Marshals to James Benoit, 67

SAN ANTONIO – More than six months after he was first featured as a fugitive on KSAT-12, James Arthur Benoit was arrested after a viewer saw him on the air again last week.

Benoit, 67, was wanted on three counts of sexual assault of a girl under the age of 14.

KSAT-12 first featured Benoit in May with other fugitives on Crime Fighters Takedown Day. Tuesday, the US Marshals joined the effort to find Benoit.

A KSAT-12 viewer saw the story and called the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.

"James Benoit was arrested (Friday) morning without incident by the US Marshals at a residence in Oklahoma City," said Deputy U.S. Marshal Chris Bozeman.

Benoit will be brought back to Bexar County to face the charges against him.
