3 pets rescued in SW Side apartment fire

Damage estimated at $70,000

SAN ANTONIO – A cat and two dogs were rescued in an apartment fire Sunday afternoon on the city's Southwest Side.

When firefighters arrived at the apartment in the 1000 block of Division Avenue at 2:30 p.m., they found the one-bedroom apartment behind a home in flames.

Investigators believe an electrical problem was to blame for the blaze.

Damage was estimated at $70,000.

One of the cats had to be given oxygen from a mask, but is doing OK.
