Only 13 episodes remain for ‘Game of Thrones' series

Creators of HBO series confirm only two seasons left

“Game of Thrones,” HBO's popular series based on George R.R. Martin's novels, will end after two more seasons.

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the show's creators, plan to end the show after 13 more episodes.

“From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this 70-75 hours, and that’s what we’ll end up with. Call it 73 for now,” Benioff said, according to Deadline.com.

The Emmy Award-winning show has aired about 60 hours: six seasons, 10 episodes each, roughly an hour long.

With two more confirmed seasons and just 13 planned episodes, that means that one or both of the seasons will be shorter.

"Game of Thrones" will return in 2017.
