Royal Rumble is one of the WWE's biggest events of the year. The company said it officially kicks off the road to WrestleMania.

The event will be highlighted by a 30-man over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble match, which will feature WWE Superstars from Raw and SmackDown. Officials said the winner will receive a title opportunity at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando on April 2, 2017.

More than 60,000 people witnessed WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin win the Royal Rumble match and WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels win the WWE Championship when the Alamodome previously hosted the 1997 Royal Rumble, officials said.

Tickets are expected to go on sale Friday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. through all Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000. WWE officials said all tickets are subject to service charges and facility fees.
